Channing Tatum has promised there will be a 'Magic Mike 2'. The actor has even suggested he may direct the movie.
Magic Mike, the male stripper film which hit our screens last year, will have a sequel Channing Tatum revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Tatum is unsure if director Steven Soderburgh, who directed the first Magic Mike film, will be returning for the sequel. He said Soderburgh "really wants to be done directing movies". This has raised the possibility that Tatum could step into the director's shoes as well as starring. He said he would "shoot the sequel" despite being nervous about doing so.

However, Tatum wishes Soderburgh would stay on for the project, he says the director is "a very fixed-in-his-ways guy". He has asked fans of the first movie to lobby Soderburgh to return to direct the sequel.
Magic Mike 2 is currently in development and Tatum thinks it "will be a road trip movie". He commented on the shock of audiences who expected the first Magic Mike to be a uber-"camp and cheesy" affair yet found a darker film with gun crime and violence prevalent.
Tatum promises the next film will be "crazy and fun and less slice-of-life and less drama".
Tatum has recently become a father to a baby girl Everly. His wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum gave birth at the end of May. He says he is not getting much sleep.

This may be difficult as he is currently in the UK filming Jupiter Ascending; in which he will star alongside Mila Kunis (Black Swan), Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables) and Sean Bean (Game of Thrones).
His latest film White House Down is in US cinemas today (28th June 2013) and will be out in the UK on 6th September.
