Charlie Sheen’s appeal for people to send “a rotted egg, a roll of toilet paper or some dog sh*t” to his daughter’s former school was understandably met with outrage and disdain by Viewpoint School, itself and it’s caused a fair bit of eye-rolling elsewhere, too. Still, Sheen remains unapologetic for his comments, claiming that the Los Angeles school should be “ashamed” of the bullying that goes on there.

Speaking to TMZ, Sheen – who’s hardly shy of a public outburst or two – explained that his nine year-old daughter Sam was bullied so relentlessly a year or so ago, that she felt unable to return to the school. He claims that the school accused his daughter of lying and attempted to bury the problem. “There’s no statute of limitations on bullying,” he told TMZ and he explained that the dog poop he was encouraging people to smear at the school would be a “visual reminder not to forget the epidemic of bullying.” Sheen seems to feel justified in calling upon people to write the bully’s name in dog poo across the school grounds, on the basis that the girl had bullied his daughter.

The school has responded with a statement, saying “Viewpoint School's highest priority is the safety, security and education of our students. Like all responsible schools across our nation, we are concerned when any individual uses a social media forum to encourage actions that may risk the safety and security of any school… Our School takes accusations of bullying very seriously. For over 50 years, Viewpoint School has provided a safe and nurturing environment for our students to thrive, and we will continue to do so.”
