Tweet: "It's one of the finest views in the country." Charlie Watts jokes about the time he spends watching Rolling Stones bandmate Mick Jagger from behind onstage.
Quote: "Mick (Jagger) is the best frontman going, now that James Brown and Michael Jackson have gone. Being out there, he's the best. He takes it deadly seriously, as well; he keeps himself together. He looks great - everything you could want." Drummer Charlie Watts heaps praise on the Rolling Stones frontman.
Quote: "Glastonbury, it's old hat really. I never liked the hippy thing to start with. It's not what I'd like to do for a weekend, I can tell you." The Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts is dreading the band's upcoming appearance at the legendary British music festival.
Quote: "I happened to be driving through London a couple of years ago and I saw Charlie Watts out of the window. He was standing on the corner of a street, in a suit, looking up at a building... I told my driver to stop, rolled my window down and got out my camera to take a picture, but there was no film in it. So I just yelled, 'I'm a big fan!' He looked at me like I was mad." Benicio Del Toro had a chance encounter with the Rolling Stones star.
Fact: The Rolling Stones stars Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts teamed up with former members Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman on Wednesday (09Mar11) to pay tribute to founding member Ian Stewart, who died of a heart attack in 1985. The rockers celebrated Stewart's life and raised money for the British Heart Foundation at the gig, held at London's Ambassadors Theatre.
Quote: "It looked like a very expensive hooker's room. It had some sort of pink motif and a very large bed. I remember bonking some bird in there one night and getting discovered." Engineer ANDY JOHNS recalls Charlie Watts' bedroom at KEITH RICHARDS French chateau - where the Rolling Stones recorded the Exile on Main Street album.
Quote: "I've never been a big Beatles fan. Of Ringo, yes, but not of the music. And I've always hated Elvis. He was the last one I wanted to use as a guide. Miles Davis and Fats Domino, yes, but Elvis, no." Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts reveals his musical tastes.
Quote: "Honestly, I couldn't care less if it were over and done with the Stones tomorrow." Drummer Charlie Watts would be happy to move on from the Rolling Stones.
Quote: <p>"They weren't something I wanted to be. We did shows with them. Onstage, they didn't do bugger-all. None of them moved much." Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts wasn't impressed with the Beatles. </p>
Quote: <p>"If I hadn't been well enough to do this tour, someone else would have done it... There's guys in our road crew who can do what I do." Charlie Watts insists the Rolling Stones would have continued to tour without him if his cancer treatment or recovery forced him to sit out of the A BIGGER BANG dates. </p>
