Charlize Theron is convinced she terrified the director of her breakthrough movie 2 Days in the Valley into giving her the role after acting manic during her audition.
The actress admits her first ever audition was a weird experience because she felt she had to sell herself as the victim of a shooting and pretend to die in front of moviemaker John Herzfeld.
She tells W magazine, "I remember I was in a catsuit. I had never auditioned before, and I almost brought a bottle of ketchup and squirted it all over myself for the scene where I got shot.
"I looked like a maniac. It was a dying scene, so I barged through the door and started crawling on the floor. I think they were too scared not to give me the role."
