Rockers CHEAP TRICK have scrapped a show in Vancouver, Canada on 1 September (11) over structural concerns - just weeks after they had to run for their lives as a stage collapsed around them amid a storm in Ottawa.
The Surrender hitmakers' equipment was destroyed by high winds and lashing rain, which suddenly brought the Ottawa Bluesfest to a close on 17 July (11) - and now the bandmates have pulled out of a concert at the Pacific National Exhibition after learning that Berger, the company who provided the Mega-Stage set up at that show, will be handling the upcoming concert.
A statement from the band reads, "All potential alternatives have been explored by the band and promoter and were exhausted, leaving Cheap Trick with no other option than to cancel their September 1st engagement at the Pne.
"Unless current investigations prove otherwise, the band will not, as a matter of principle, but more importantly, as a matter of safety, appear on a Berger stage in the future."
