British singers Toyah Willcox and Cheryl Baker, and hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks, were left stranded on a snowbound road for up to 10 hours as blizzards blanketed parts of the U.K. this week (beg11Mar13).

Hundreds of motorists were forced to spend hours trapped in their vehicles overnight in freezing conditions as heavy downpours in parts of the south of England on Monday evening (11Mar13) caused chaos on the roads.

Among those affected were former Bucks Fizz star Baker, who was stuck in the blizzard near her home in Kent, England for eight hours.

She contacted U.K. morning show Daybreak on Tuesday to describe the chaotic scenes, saying, "I am just looking at the traffic on the other side of the (road) - there's blue flashing lights, there's police cars, there's piles of traffic."

Fellow 1980s star Willcox took to Twitter.com to reveal her six-hour misery in the snow, writing, "Still on A23 (highway), not moved yet northbound is moving freely. 6 hours! Come on snow isn't that bad."

British urban stars Rizzle Kicks spent 10 hours stranded in the freezing gridlock as they headed to London from their base on the south coast of England.

After their ordeal, rapper Harley Alexander-Sule told Daybreak, "It was complete carnage. We were driving up, heading northbound, and southbound we saw vans (travelling) backwards and cars on the side of the road and people just sliding around. It was quite a sight."
