British singer Cheryl Cole was so taken with one "cute" soldier during her trip to Afghanistan earlier this month (Sep11), she took his number and is planning to call him.
The Girls Aloud star jetted to the war-torn region last week (13Sep11) to visit British soldiers posted in the country's dangerous Helmand Province.
During her stay, Cole dished out meals to the service men and women, handled a gun during a training exercise and spent time meeting troops based in the country.
The singer has since opened up about the "unbelievable experience" and is keeping in touch with a few of the soldiers she met through Twitter.com.
Cole, who divorced soccer star Ashley Cole last year (10), has also revealed she became smitten with a "gorgeous" corporal she met on the four-day trip.
She tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "I can't explain how glad I am that I went. It was a real privilege. Not only are the soldiers incredibly brave, a few were also incredibly cute. I actually came back with a phone number from one lad... although I think his talking to me was a dare. He started chatting to me after I'd been shot at during a training exercise.
"Obviously it wasn't real ammunition but it was still terrifying. Anyway, I think I am going to call him this week and we'll see what happens. I'm sure he's not expecting me to ring but that's why it'll be funny - and that's why I'm going to do it.
"There really were so many handsome guys - even some of the girl soldiers were totally gorgeous. Loads of the girls are now following me on Twitter and 'Tweeting' me. It's great.
"I'd love to stay in touch with some of the incredible people I was lucky enough to meet."
