One of the most talked-about celebrity romance rumours in recent memory seems to be an actual thing, with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini appearing to confirm that she’s seeing One Direction singer Liam Payne with a series of new selfies.

‘The X Factor’ judge posed with three men in separate photographs – the Directioner, the general manager of L’Oreal and another man, believed to be a fashion photographer – confirming that she is dating one of them. She captioned one of the pics: “My mystery man line up #whosthemysteryman #whoisit #whosworthit.”

She then posted a solo selfie a few hours later, but if you look closely you can see a man’s arm around her shoulder, with tattoos on the forearm in the same places that Payne has, and a limited edition platinum Rolex around his wrist.

So, if this is a kind of ‘Cheryl dating’ game, could it mean that 22 year old Payne has competition from other guys?

32 year old Cheryl is in the process of divorcing her second husband Jean-Bernard, and it was yesterday reported that the singer wants to drop Fernandez-Versini as her second name and revert back to Tweedy.

This was after reports recently emerged that she and Payne have been secretly dating for the last three months. Some onlookers, despite this, reckon they’ve actually broken up, and these selfies and pictures from the pair of them could be simply to tease the media, or, alternatively, to hit back at those naysayers who reckon they’re no longer an item.

This conclusion has been pieced together by Liam’s rather odd sequence of actions via social media running up to the news breaking late last week, and what he’s done since. The day after the news, he changed his Instagram status to ‘Happy’ and posted a black-and-white picture of him and Cheryl, but he’s since taken that down.

So, what do you make of it all?
