Cheryl Fernandez-Versini would ''love'' to record music with Rita Ora.

The 32-year-old singer has confessed she misses the energy of working within a band, as she did with Girls Aloud, and would relish the opportunity to collaborate with Rita in the recording studio.

She said: ''I miss working with the girls in the band, so would love to work with Rita now on something. I know it'd be great. She's so funny.''

Cheryl is currently busy balancing her role as a judge on the reality TV show 'The X Factor' with recording her new album, which she revealed is likely to be released in 2016.

She told The Sun newspaper: ''I am recording and let's just say I'm loving R&B again.

''But there'll be no album this year. It's looking more likely to be next year.''

Earlier this month, meanwhile, fellow 'X Factor' judge Simon Cowell branded Rita a ''diva'', but also insisted the fact she has an ''ego'' makes her a much more fascinating person.

He said: ''Rita is a diva, but adorable. I really do like her. I like people who have an ego and want to do well, it makes them more interesting.

''There is a side to Rita that I don't think people have seen yet, which is funny.''
