Rather than spoiling his girlfriend with diamonds, Liam decided to make a large donation to Cheryl’s charity for her birthday.
Liam Payne found a very sweet way to honour his girlfriend Cheryl for her 33rd birthday. While it had previously been reported that Liam gave Cheryl a diamond ring as her birthday present, it turns out he actually did something far more special and thoughtful.
Liam Payne made a donation to Cheryl’s charity for her 33rd birthday.
MailOnline reports that Cheryl didn't receive any material gifts from Liam on Thursday (June 30) and instead he donated the the money he would have spent on her gift to her charitable foundation, Cheryl’s Trust.
A source said: “She was over the moon, she thought it was a really lovely gesture. She's already got everything she needs.” Cheryl founded the charity last year to help transform the lives of young people living in the North East of England.
Cheryl’s Trust, partnered with the Prince's Trust, is currently building a state-of-the-art youth centre in Newcastle which will help the region’s most at-risk young people, including those dealing with drug and alcohol abuse, homelessness, mental health problems and those leaving care.
Cheryl celebrated her birthday with Liam on Thursday evening with a dinner at Coya restaurant in London. The dinner was also attended by her former Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberley Walsh. On twitter the singer thanked fans for their birthday wishes, writing: "Thank you so much for all of my lovely birthday wishes I had such a lovely day"
