Original supermodel Cheryl Tiegs has criticised Sports Illustrated for featuring ‘fuller- figured’ model Ashley Graham as one of the cover stars for its annual Swimsuit Issue. Tiegs was the first ever model to feature on Sports Illustrated's cover twice, but says she thinks it’s ‘not healthy’ to use Graham as one of this year’s cover stars.

Speaking to E! during the 13th Annual Global Green USA Pre-Oscar Party Tiegs said: "I don't like that we're talking about full-figured women because it's glamorizing them because your waist should be smaller than 35 [inches]. That's what Dr. Oz said, and I'm sticking to it.”

"No, I don't think it's healthy. Her face is beautiful. Beautiful. But I don't think it's healthy in the long run.” This year the magazine released three different covers for the annual Swimsuit Issue, with UFC fighter Ronda Rousey and model Hailey Clauson also featuring.

Appearing on Thursday’s edition of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Graham said she wanted to be described as ‘curvasexalicious’, rather than as a plus-sized or ‘fuller figured’ model. “I like to call it, like, curvasexalicious," Graham said.

"Sizing has gotten frightening. There’s a double 0 now. It's a little scary on both spectrums of weight. I'm not a promoter of anorexia. I'm not a promoter of obesity. I think we have to promote women to be healthy at every size as long as they're getting off the couch and moving their body."
