Troubled rapper Chief Keef has found himself at the centre of a new police investigation following a Wednesday morning (26Mar14) shooting at an Illinois property linked to the star.

One victim was admitted to a local hospital in the village of Northfield, near Chicago, where they are being treated in the intensive care unit.

The extent of the person's injuries were unknown as Wenn went to press, but Chief Keef's lawyer tells Tmz.com the hip-hop star was not the shooter, insisting he just happened to be present when the incident happened.

Police have yet to name a suspect or establish a motive for the shooting, which occurred at a home reportedly owned by the rapper's manager. Other unconfirmed rumours suggest Keef had been renting the house.

The 18 year old has done himself few favours after posting images of himself posing with a gun on Instagram.com on Monday (24Mar14). Another picture features six firearms laid out on an ottoman, alongside piles of cash.

In the accompanying captions, Keef simply wrote, "Another situation. Already".

The latest news comes just three weeks after he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (Dui) just days after he was released from a rehab clinic, where he served 90-days in court-ordered treatment for a probation violation.

The 5 March (14) arrest also resulted in charges of driving on a suspended licence and having no proof of insurance. He was subsequently released on $300 (£187) bail.
