An elaborate hoax in a New York coffee shop builds up the hype for the upcoming Carrie movie. Deliberately filmed, the clip shows the reactions of the crowd who witness a young woman in the café telekinetically reacting to a man who spills coffee on her. The clip shows the elaborate plotting of the hoax including how the man would be lifted against the wall and how books, tables and chairs would move as if independently.
Chloe Moretz and Julianne Moore star in Carrie.
The prank, held in the West Village's 'Snice café shows the reaction of the unsuspecting customers. Many of whom, initially showing disbelief, panicked and ran from the café.
Based on Stephen King's 1974 novel, the latest adaptation of Stephen King's best-selling work stars Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass), as Carrie, and Julianne Moore (The Hours) as her mother, Margaret. They are supported by a host of young actors who play the roles of Carrie's bullies who she exacts revenge on when they push her too far at a high school dance.
Carrie has been adapted a number of times since its publication. The most famous instance was the 1976 film starring Sissy Peck as Carrie and Laurel Piper as her mother. John Travolta also appeared in the film as one of Carrie's victims.
