If I Stay

Chloe Grace Moretz and Jamie Blackley have been out and about promoting their new teenage tearjerker If I Stay over the past week. First they premiered the film in New York, at which they were filmed chatting with fans, taking selfies and signing autographs. Then Blackley headed to London for more of the same this week. Watch the video - Chloe Grace Moretz And Jamie Blackley Greet Fans At 'If I Stay' Screening.

Also in London, Mia Wasikowska, Ed Speleers and Lindsay Duncan were filmed while shooting a sequence for the Alice in Wonderland sequel Through the Looking Glass in what looks like a bustling Victorian market. Clearly this scene is part of the framing story rather than Wonderland. Watch the video of Mia Wasikowska Seen Filming For 'Alice In Wonderland: Through The Looking Glass'.

And in Los Angeles Zac Efron was spotted on the set of his new film We Are Your Friends, in which he plays a DJ trying to make it on the international club scene. The film costars Wes Bentley, Shiloh Fernandez, Alicia Coppola and Emily Ratajkowski. View the photos of Zac Efron filming "We Are Your Friends".

Automata

As for new trailers, the most intriguing one is for Automata, a sci-fi thriller starring Antonio Banderas as a robotics expert faces the possibility of a technological uprising. Made by Spanish filmmaker Gabe Ibanez (Hierro), the film looks intriguing both thematically and visually. It costars Dylan McDermott, Melanie Griffith and Robert Forster and opens in October. Watch 'Automata' Trailer.

A new trailer arrived this week for Kill the Messenger, a thriller starring Jeremy Renner as a journalist digging into a conspiracy in which the CIA sold drugs to raise money to fund Nicaraguan rebels. Based on a true story, the film looks twisty and urgent. Costarring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Robert Patrick, Michael Sheen, Andy Garcia and Oliver Platt, it opens in America in October and in Britain next spring. Watch 'Kill the Messenger' Trailer.

Also out in October, the latest Nicholas Sparks movie released its first trailer this week. The Best of Me stars James Marsden, Michelle Monaghan, Liana Liberato and Luke Bracey in a story of a couple reunited after 20 years. It looks as emotionally wrenching as most Sparks adaptations, and the cast looks solid dramatically, and also rather gorgeous. Watch 'The Best of Me' Trailer.

Trash

And we also had our first glimpse of Trash, the Brazilian adventure thriller from Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot) about three kids who make a surprising discovery in a Rio de Janeiro dump that could bring down the government. There's definitely a hint of Slumdog Millionaire about this one. It stars Rooney Mara and Martin Sheen, and opens in the US in October and the UK in January. Watch 'Trash' Trailer.
