Chris Brown: I Lost Everything. Singer Chris Brown has apparently been reflecting on his conscience and perhaps unsurprisingly he didn't like what he saw. So maybe this is why he is showing a much softer, regretful side to himself in recent interviews, particularly his chat with Matt Lauer on Monday's Today Show (April 1).

Chris Brown: A Changed Man?

Now, this turn of character may have just been an April Fools joke from Brown, we wouldn't put that past him, but then again he may genuinely be sorry for acting like the biggest douche on the planet and thinks now it is time to make amends with the world. Maybe his record label have asked him to pretend to be nice, in order to shift more units of his latest album, X, but whatever his game is you can be forgiven for not wanting to fall for this potential act of redemption (especially if you're Rihanna).

During his chat with Lauer, Brown was on the show to plug his new album, that was until something strange happened: he began responding to the more intimate questions that Lauer was dishing out, rather than behaving in an uncivil manner as is his usual response. When the anchor brought up the infamous 2009 pre-Grammy bust up he had with his then girlfriend Rihanna, Breezy had this to say: "From me losing everything, you know, to me having to regain public opinion or whatever it is -- but most importantly, you know, knowing that what I did was totally wrong and having to kind of deal with myself and kind of forgive myself in the same breath and being able to apologize to, you know, Rihanna and be that man that can be who is a man, you know?"

So far Chris probably isn't fooling anyone, but he may genuinely be ready for change

The Today host didn't leave it there though and must have sensed that it was safe to poke the bear with a stick for now as he probed deeper, quizzing the R&B star on his other questionable moments, to which he had this to say: "I think everybody is entitled to their opinion. For me, it's just a learning process. You know, I have to just take it one day at a time. I can't make everybody like me ...it's about me being positive."

So could Chris be a changed man? Forgive us for not being bowled over straight away, after all he did say all this on April Fools Day, and it is Chris Brown.
