Chris Brown became embroiled in an online war of words with members of controversial rap group Odd Future on Friday (17Jun11) after one bandmember compared him to Tina Turner's violent ex-husband Ike.
The band's frontman, Tyler, The Creator, has come under heavy fire in recent weeks over the hip-hop act's lyrics, which often contain reams of expletives and homophobic comments.
However, the group impressed Brown, who took to his Twitter.com page to praise Odd Future star Frank Ocean and liken him to popular R&B singers James Fauntleroy and Kevin Cossom, but Ocean was not happy with the comparisons.
He subsequently hit back with a barbed sting - likening Brown to Ike Turner, who famously beat his famous former wife Tina during their tempestuous marriage.
Ocean replied, "I f**ks wit Chris Brown, reminds me of a young Sisqo or Ike Turner."
Brown, who was convicted of assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, was fuming his troubled past had been brought up, and took aim at Ocean in a series of angry Tweets.
He wrote, "It was a compliment you b**ch a** n**ga. Everybody claim to be the devil till they meet him...
"F**k Odd Future!... I was tryna (trying to) help yo (your) sales n**ga. You f**kin (sic) clown!"
Tyler, The Creator then came to his pal's defence, mocking Brown's blonde hairstyle and comparing his look to Kanye West's ex-girlfriend Amber Rose, writing, "What's Wrong Christopher? Amber Rose stole your style bro?"
Brown later apologised for his outburst, writing, "To all my fans, I'm sorry these ignorant a** n**gas got me down to their level".
