Veteran crooner Chris De Burgh was once packed in a box, wheeled on stage and left to climb out in front of thousands of fans - thanks to a practical joke by British rockers SUPERTRAMP. The Lady In Red hitmaker, 58, was ridiculed by the group when he supported them during the early years of his career on their Crime Of The Century tour. Supertramp frontman Roger Hodgson, who is embarking on a solo U.K. tour next month (Oct07), admits he got a kick from being a prankster. He says, "We used to play tricks on him. Chris used to have a habit of running back on stage almost immediately after his set to ensure an encore. One time we grabbed him, put him in an equipment case, wheeled him to the middle of the stage and left him to climb out. I don't remember him being too amused."
