Chris Evans is back as Steve Rogers for Marvel's sequel to the 2011 movie and The Winter Soldier, has scored strong, strong, reviews, with most critics agreeing that is possibly the studio's finest movie to date. Anthony Russo and Joe Russo's movie - also starring Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L Jackson and Anthony Mackie - is probably better than The Avengers, so eat that up.

"Takes the bold (for Marvel) step of reducing CGI spectacle to a relative minimum in favor of reviving the pleasures of hard-driving old-school action, surprising character development and intriguing suspense," said Todd McCarthy of the Hollywood Reporter.

"Chockfull of the breathless cliffhangers dictated by the genre, but equally rich in the quiet, tender character moments that made the first film unique among recent Marvel fare ..." said Scott Foundas of Variety.

"The film is everything anyone could want from a comic book movie, and will stand as one of the best of all time," said Eric Eisenberg of CinemaBlend.com

"...the best action film out of the entire Marvel movie universe so far, bar none," said Drew McWeeney of HitFix.com.

The Russo brothers were surprise choices for The Winter Soldier - they're best known for their television work on 'Community' - though they've risen to the challenge with aplomb. During a recent interview, Joe Russo revealed that the siblings tried, and failed, to take control of a very famous franchise.

"My brother and I, when we first got into the business, tried to get the rights to The Lord of the Rings," Joe told Collider recently, "There was a period in the 90s when they were available for a second. We just know how difficult it is to take that kind of material and turn it into something of that scale."

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is set for release in the US on April 4, 2014.
