Chris Evans has secured a dream Hollywood house after paying $3.25 million in a bidding war.

The 31-year-old actor was determined to snap up the 4,600-square-foot Laurel Canyon property in Los Angeles, California, and so he paid $20,000 above the asking price to land the property.

The 'Captain America: The First Avenger' star - who is from Sudbury, Massachusetts - is still yet to put his existing property on the market but is thought to have wanted the three-bedroom pad, which is situated in a secluded spot in the city, in order to gain some privacy.

Evans' home was bought by the previous owner for $1.9 million in June and they significantly increased the value by making several renovations and upgrades, including updating the kitchen and laying new floors.

The 4,600-square-foot property boasts four-and-a-half bathrooms, one of which has a team shower lined with limestone and Italian Calcutta marble, a master bedroom complete with a dressing room and an outdoor swimming pool which has a breathtaking view of San Fernando Valley.

Evans - who is currently filming 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' - started dating Minka Kelly in September 2012, after having a brief romance with her in 2007, but it is not known if she'll be moving into the home with him.
