Chris Pine's 'Star Trek' character is too busy for a love interest.

The 'Star Trek Into Darkness' actor - who plays the USS Enterprise's fearless leader Captain James T. Kirk - would love for his character to have a romantic sub-plot in the space saga, but stresses that he's too preoccupied with saving the world.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the world premiere of the film at London's Empire Cinema in Leicester Square on Thursday (02.05.13), he said: ''He'll meet someone when worlds don't need saving, I guess. This film is so action-packed and so filled with dire straits, and near-death experiences, and almost the end of the world - he just needs to get out of space for a second and sit down at a bar to meet someone.''

However, the hunky actor says Kirk won't have to look too far to find a beauty able to tame his womanising on-screen alter-ego, hinting at a romance between the Starfleet captain and 'Star Trek' newcomer Doctor Carol Marcus, played by Alice Eve.

He said: ''Alice is beautiful, she's super smart, and she brings all that to the role. That's why I think you get hints of the attraction between my character and hers. I think it's because her character doesn't take any s**t from Jim and doesn't buy into his whole thing.''

Other stars who appeared on the special white carpet at the premiere included Benedict Cumberbatch, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Alice Eve and Simon Pegg, as well as tbhe film's director J.J. Abrams, producers Bryan Burk and Damon Lindelof and writers Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci.
