'Jurassic World' And 'Inside Out' Hold Off 'Magic Mike XXL' And 'Terminator: Genisys' At US Box Office
A group of male strippers and a Terminator weren’t enough to topple the mighty ‘Jurassic World’ at the box office this weekend.
Jurassic World continued its domination of the US box office this Fourth of July weekend, retaining the number one spot despite competition from Terminator: Genisys and Magic Mike XXL. But it wasn't just Jurassic World which managed to see off the two hot new releases, Pixar’s Inside Out also held its own, keeping the number two spot for a third week running.
There’s no stopping Jurassic World at the US box office.
Colin Trevorrow’s dino-epic used Independence Day weekend to surpass Avengers: Age of Ultron and enter the list of the top five highest-grossing films of all time, with a total of $1.385 billion. Now in it’s fourth week of release, the reboot of the Jurassic World franchise, which stars Chris Pratt, has so far taken $558.1 million in North America alone.
