Chris Pratt may be used to stunt work by now, following superhero epic 'Guardians of the Galaxy', but that apparently didn't make him any less nervous when it came to performing yet more stunts on the set of the new 'Jurassic World' movie.

Pratt plays Owen Grady in the movie; a motorcycle enthusiast and Velociraptor trainer; so of course, this meant he had one of the most stunt-heavy roles in the whole film. The only problem was, Pratt had serious reservations about some of the activity he had to shoot while astride a Triumph bike, and vowed to never take up riding away from his professional life.

Chris Pratt has apologized in advance for his upcoming Jurassic World press tour, calling himself "dumb" and warning that his comments might be "tasteless". Pratt, 35, wrote a message to fans on his Facebook page.

And, you know, actors come up and just blatantly hit on my wife in front of me and don't even look at me. I'm like, ‘What the f***, dude?’”

Solving the potential problem of how to make something more impressive than a Tyrannosaurus Rex on a cinema screen, the trailer gives us a first look at an even bigger, deadlier beast – the Indominus Rex. Created in a laboratory at the behest of a company to boost the theme park’s attendances… well, you know what’s gonna go wrong there.

All thanks to a Super Bowl bet made in February, this Saturday 7th March the kids at Seattle Children’s Hospital were lucky enough to meet Captain America in the flesh. Chris Evans was accompanied by fellow superhero Chris Pratt, who is the star of another highly successful movie, Guardians of the Galaxy.

It was the pair’s second hospital visit after they placed a bet on which of their teams would win the Super Bowl in February. If Pratt’s team (the Seattle Seahawks) won, Evans had agreed to visit the Seattle Children’s Hospital dressed as Captain America, while if Evans’ team (the New England Patriots) were successful, Pratt had promised to visit Christopher’s Haven, in Boston, as his Guardians of the Galaxy character, Star-Lord. Despite the win by Evans and the New England Patriots, the two men kept up both ends of their bargain and visited children at both hospitals dressed as their superhero counterparts.

With Oscar season finally over it’s time for the fun to begin, as the MTV Movie Awards are here yet again to hand out the trophies that really matter. With the Hunger Games soon coming to an end (for now), Jennifer Lawrence is reportedly in talks to star in space drama, Passengers, which is currently in development over at Sony. The Super Bowl is possibly the most anticipated and well-known sporting event of every year; a game of American Football, set to decide the National Football League champion team for that season. On 1st February 2014, the New England Patriots fought the Seattle Seahawks for the title, in a game that saw Quarterback Tom Brady win his fourth Super Bowl and third Super Bowl MVP award. In the end, the New England Patriots won the game with 28, against the Seattle Seahawks 24.

Just when you thought Jennifer Lawrence’s 2014 couldn’t get any more spectacular, she’s been announced as the top grossing actor of the year, with her movies pulling in more viewers than any other name.

According to the list compiled by Forbes, the 24 year old starred in two of the year’s top-grossing movies, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and X-Men: Days of Future Past, which together brought in $1.4 billion in worldwide box offices.

Disney has announced it will release Guardians of the Galaxy mixtape on cassette. Awesome Mix Vol 1 will be the studio's first cassette release in more than a decade and marks a resurgence of the medium.

Billboard reports that the limited-edition cassette will be released on November 17, though will only be available exclusively at independent record shops. Strangely, the release will ignore the Black Friday Record Store Day, which takes place across indie record stores just 11 days later.

Marvel's monumental sci-fi hit Guardians of the Galaxy has topped the North American box-office, six weeks after it opened in theaters. In one of the slowest cinema weekends of the year, Guardians took $10.2 million between Friday and Sunday to take its overall takings to more than $294 million.

After storming the global box office last week with a take of more than $200 million and counting (it had the biggest August opening in US history), Guardians of the Galaxy fans immediately started asking what's next for these new Marvel heroes. Since it's set in space, crossover possibilities with the Avengers aren't obvious (except perhaps Thor), so the filmmakers have a lot of leeway as they move forward.

The film tantalisingly teases this question at the very end, and Feige has admitted that the answer "would certainly be part of a next Guardians adventure".

Guardians of the Galaxy was given a big platform to live up to before its official release with many calling the tenth Marvel instalment the best in the collection yet. First view critics were impressed with the look of the film and its special effects, the acting ensemble and the humour and comic play in it that is not always found in a Marvel superhero film. Even Jim Starlin, the comic book creator of villain Thanos, waded in, calling it Marvel’s best movie so far.

After intense promotion, Guardians of the Galaxy emerged from the weekend a box office record holder. With $94 million, Guardians had the biggest August opening ever. Which begs the question – now that Chris Pratt (aka Peter Quill, aka Star Lord) is a legit movie star, will he hold on to it?

Well, he's got the heroic glare down pat.

Pratt was the only “wild card” going into the project. His previous role, on Parks & Rec, made him a fan favorite, but lacked the exposure needed to launch a successful film career.

Guardians of the Galaxy's quest for world domination seems to be going pretty well- the film has not only slain at the box office, it's won over the critics, and perhaps most importantly, the fans. But the film's success has also had a more musical impact: its delightfully retro soundtrack, featuring 1970's pop and rock hits, has gone straight to the top of the iTunes Charts.

Featuring songs including 10CC's 'I'm Not In Love' and The Five Stairsteps 'Ooh Child', it's an electic group of tracks brought together under the title 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1'. Audiences were given a sneak peek of things to come in the film's trailer, when Blue Swede's 'Hooked on a Feeling' made an appearence and set the tone for things to come.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy looks to be sailing on course to become one of the studio’s biggest movies of all time, thanks to an already phenomenal opening weekend. 

Guardians of the Galaxy has proved a hit with critics

Starring Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper and Dave Bautista, the quirky comic book movie has more than exceeded expectations, earning five star reviews from fans and critics alike. But the film’s high praise looks to be echoed at the box office this weekend, with some Disney insiders predicting it will take over $95 million in North America.

It’s been a well-documented rise to fame for Chris Pratt – the guy who used to carve out sections of his Reebok classics because he couldn’t afford new ones that fit. Now, he leads an all star cast in Marvel’s latest multi-movie deal, and if the reviews are anything to go by, he’s got himself a franchise to be proud of.

"What's really nice about this movie is that I believe we did something that's never been done before ... So, maybe people wouldn't have seen me in this role, but that's because they weren't able to have the vision that James [Gunn, director] had for what this could be,” explained Pratt to Collider.

London’s Leicester Square played host to the Guardian of The Galaxy premiere last night. The latest Marvel adventure has been attracting strong praise for the critics ahead of what is expected to be a big box office weekend for action-comedy.

“They're the thieves, the bounty hunters and the neglected”, explains Zoe Saldana of their characters in this featurette. “It's not a typical superhero movie.” Chris Pratt – who plays the ‘hero’ role, adds: “Peter Quill is the only human in this crazy world. He doesn't have superhuman strength or the abillity to fly but he uses his cunning and his charm to get himself out of situations.” Finally, Bradley Cooper – who plays a machine gun-wielding Racoon, Rocket - spoke highly of the melding of genres, both action and comedy. “There's a lot of humour in this one and a lot of heart. There's nothing like it, that's for sure.”

The film’s stars, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, John C. Reilly, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Benicio Del Toro, Djimon Hounsou, Michael Rooker, Dave Bautista, Laura Haddock, Glenn Close, Ophelia Lovibond, Peter Serafinowicz and Melia Kreiling – amongst others – were in attendance at the glitzy London premiere last night. After intense promotion from Marvel over the past six months, Guardians of the Galaxy is out in cinemas next week, but not before the critics get their say. This time, it’s a resounding yes, as the acting, the story and most of all the visuals of Guardians get the reviewers’ approval.

Marvel made a gamble with Chris Pratt and it's paying off big time.

According to Forbes’ Scott Mendelson, “writer/director James Gunn and co-writer Nicole Perlman’s Guardians of the Galaxy is an absolutely crackling action-adventure film, a dazzling and engaging bit of optimistic sci-fi melodrama.” As for the story, which is usually a strong point of Marvel’s brand of superhero action,  there is “inventive spectacle to spare, but it remains rooted in character chemistry and successful broad-strokes storytelling that makes the action beats count as more than visceral moments. ”

Well, fear not- because it turns out even celebrities are guilty of the social media sin. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on Monday night Guardians of the Galaxy co-stars Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista told a funny story about a message Pratt sent to WWE Heavyweight Champion Bautista whilst under the influence of Ambien, a sleeping pill.

Fans lined the streets outside London's May Fair Hotel to glimpse the cast of the teen hit The Fault in Our Stars as they attended a special gala screening in advance of the film's opening in Britain this weekend. Meanwhile in Hong Kong, cast and crew turned out for a rain-soaked world premiere of Transformers: Age of Extinction, including director Michael Bay and stars Mark Wahlberg Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Kelsey Grammer, Stanley Tucci and Li Bingbing. The Imagine Dragons did a live performance as part of the film's celebrations. Mark Wahlberg and his Transformers: Age Of Extinction castmates had to brave monsoon conditions for the world premiere of the action film in Hong Kong on Thursday (19Jun14).
