Chris Pratt, Hollywood's man-of-the-moment best known for Zero Dark Thirty and Guardians of the Galaxy, could play Indiana Jones in a rebooted franchise. With Star Wars: The Force Awakens now in the can, Disney is turning attention to Indiana after buying the rights from Paramount in 2013.

Deadline reports that while talks are at an early stage, Disney has decided on Pratt as the swashbuckling archaeologist made famous by Harrison Ford. It is now considered a sure-thing that the actor - who will star in Jurassic World this summer - will lead a rebooted franchise.

Still, the Virginia-born star has a busy couple of weeks and will star alongside The Magnificent Seven with Denzel Washington. Then there's Jurassic Park and the inevitable Guardians of the Galaxy sequel. The recent Sony email leak revealed that Pratt and Channing Tatum are looking to get a Ghostbusters spin-off in the works.

Last year it was reported that Disney will looking at Bradley Cooper or Chris Hemsworth for the lead in the Indiana reboot, though it appears the surprise success of Guardians has tipped the balance in Pratt's favour.

Still, Justin Kroll of Variety tweeted this morning that Pratt has no idea he is in the mix for the role and that Disney could still turn attention back to Cooper and Hemsworth.

"On Pratt and INDY, no writer, no clue on Spielberg and Pratt has no idea is even in the mix," he said.

"While studio likes they also like other actors like Bradley Cooper and Chris Hemsworth aka the usual suspects," he added.
