Chris Pratt has seen a meteoric rise of his profile in recent years after blockbuster successes including Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World and upcoming smash-hits such as The Magnificent Seven and Guardians of the Galaxy 2. However, it seems all that film fame has taken its toll and the star has announced he is taking six months off to be with his family.

The husband of actress Anna Faris and dad of young three-year-old son, Jack has been on the road for 14 months straight and is ready for some time off after filming three films back-to-back.

Magnificent Seven is set for release on 23 September and Passengers and Guardians 2 are in post-production so Pratt has finished his filming schedule.

The 37-year-old said: "I’m taking Jack to Jack’s Beach - which is what we named the little stretch of beach on an island up on the San Juan Islands where we got a place.

"We’re going to go back to the fort we built about a month and a half ago when we went for a short visit and see if that’s still there.

"If not, we’re going to build it again."

When the actor gets back on the film trail, his character in Guardians, Peter Quill, will have a show-down with his own father.

Speaking about the sequel, Pratt said: "It’s a very complex story and they’re really going to get into it.

"This is about finding out who you are, where you came from and where you’re going."
