Marvel Tease The Upcoming 'Guardians Of The Galaxy.'

The Guardians of the Galaxy are a team of superheroes that were first brought together in a 1969 comic book and reinvigorated in a 2008 line-up. In the movie, Chris Pratt's Peter Quill gets stranded in space and unites a team of unlikely ex-con aliens in order to mount a defence against cosmic threats.

The unique alien band includes a gun-toting, deceptively cute raccoon, an almost ent-like tree creature, the sword-wielding Gamora AKA "the most dangerous woman in the universe," and the dual firearm-toting Star-Lord.

The Stunning Artwork Bodes Well For The Comic Book Adaptation.

Alongside Marvel's immensely successful Avengers franchise, Guardians of the Galaxy was always going to be gamble for the studios. The stunning concept art not only confirms the roster of characters but shows the movie has some real passion and firepower behind it which will hopefully not let down fans.

Indeed, GotG has managed to assemble an equally enviable cast with Doctor Who's Karen Gillan, John C. Reilly, Benicio Del Toro and Glenn Close also set to star in the film alongside the heavy-weight main actors.

Producer Kevin Feige set imaginations racing when he revealed that cosmic madman Thanos, who was teased at the end of The Avengers, will receive an outing in the new movie, creating potential for crossover between the two films, a concept that Karen Gillan, AKA Nebula, has courted.
