'The Lego Movie' eclipsed the debuting ‘About Last Night’ and ‘RoboCop’ at the Valentine's Day weekend's North American box office.
Loved up couples did not go for a classic rom-com this Valentine's weekend, instead they spent the most romantic time of the year watching the recently released computer-animated comedy film 'The Lego Movie'.
'The Lego Movie' is proving to be a hug success at the box office
Last week this epic flick, starring the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, Charlie Day, Liam Neeson, and Morgan Freeman, plus many more, opened straight at No.1 at the box office after earning $61.9 million in ticket prices.
Its success has not yet dwindled as 'The Lego Movie' has garnered $48.8 million to top box office charts for a second week.
The movie follows Emmet (Pratt), an average Lego guy with a zest for life who is mistaken for the amazing Master Builder by the bearded sage Vitruvius (Freeman) and is given a mission to save the Lego world from being destroyed by Lord Business, the evil business man voiced by Ferrell.
