Christina Aguilera showed off her curvy new figure at the AMA's on Sunday (18.11.12).

The 'Your Body' singer flaunted her fuller figure on the red carpet at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles a gathered lilac dress, teaming the gown with a new platinum blonde bob and a hefty dose of fake tan.

She then took to the stage in fishnet tights and a skin-tight star-spangled bodysuit designed by Lady GaGa's go-to designers, The Blonds New York.

However, the sexy star's look proved to be divisive amongst the public, who either praised her confidence or slammed her for promoting an unhealthy body image.

Christina - who has four-year-old son Max with her ex-husband Jordan Bratman - has spoken out about her recent weight gain, declaring she wants to empower women.

The 31-year-old singer said: ''Embracing your body is so important, especially as a woman. In this business we are so analysed and judged.

''It's wonderful to be in a position and have that side of myself that I can latch on to and empower other women. The older you get, the more important it is to embrace your body and your sexuality.''
