Christina Aguilera has a very special person she wants us to meet, her six-month-old daughter Summer Rain who graces the cover of this week's People magazine alongside her famous mother.

Inside the issue ‘The Voice’ coach gushed about her baby daughter, describing their first moments together. "I was speechless,” the singer said. "She was literally like an angel...We had an immediate calm bond, and I felt unexplainably connected to her and her spirit.”

“Her smile lights up a room and I know it melts mama and daddy's hearts,” Aguilera continued. "She laughs a ton and is easy to make smile. She just wants to be where the action is!”

Summer is Aguilera’s first child with fiancée Matt Rutler, who she became engaged to in February of last year. The 34 year old is also mother to seven year old Max, from her marriage to Jordan Bratman, which ended in 2010. Max is also featured in the People photoshoot, posing alongside his mother and new baby sister. 

Aguilera’s pregnancy meant she was absence from ‘The Voice’s’ sixth and seventh series, but the new mom will soon be back in coaching chair for the show's eighth season, beginning later this year.


Speaking about the busy 12 months she has ahead Aguilera told People, "it's definitely not easy juggling work and motherhood, as being a parent is a full-time job within itself.”

"You just have to make it work for you. My life has so many different moving parts, but my kids are the center focal piece, and everything else shifts around them.”

"It's hard to know you won't have all the right answers at the right times. And 'mom guilt' is the worst thing ever," the singer continued. "But you have to surrender and let go, knowing you're doing your very best and no one loves them, or wants what's best for them more than you.”

Aside from her mommy duties and her coaching gig on ‘The Voice’, Aguilera is also said to be producing a series for ABC Family, while also working on her eighth studio album alongside her ‘The Voice’ co-star Pharrell Williams.
