No One Is A Favourite To Leave 'The Voice' As We Reach The Top Ten

Last night (18 Nov.) on NBC, we came no closer to discovering who might be the first contestant to be booted out of the Top Ten on The Voice, after all of the remaining performers gave it their all and performed to their best. With Team Blake and Team Adam still sitting pretty with all three contestants, and with Team Christina and Team CeeLo having lost one each, the race was still wide open, as the closely-fought contest showed how much fight was left in the contestants. The rest of this story contains spoilers from last nights episode.

Carson Daly, Adam Levine, CeeLo Green, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton have an impressive top ten left

Up first was Austin Jenckes, singing 'Your Love' by The Outfield. Still in need of finding his "breakout song," Jenckes seemed to do just that on last nights episode, as all of the judges were left thoroughly impressed by the singer as he finally came into his own. Both Blake and Christina were left impressed by the build of the song and although Adam was critical of Austin's lack of range on the song, the overall response was purely positive.

Jacquie Lee was next on the schedule, showing off her softer side with a rendition of 'Clarity' by Zedd. Christina was left in awe of the young performer and similarly Adam was quick to praise Jacquie for another strong performance, but despite showing her softer side somewhat, Blake and CeeLo both agreed that she needs to come further out from her comfort zone before they can start being as convinced of her talent as Christina and Adam are.

Will Champlin showed off his wide range with his version of 'Love Me Again' by John Newman. He received wide applause from across the judges table, and the well-travelled singer was described as a "testament to why you should keep trying" by Adam. After a performance like that, you'd understand why.

Singing 'Leaving On a Jet Plane' by John Denver, Caroline Pennell was out to prove herself next and again the judges were struggling to come up with any downsides to her performance. Adam seemed particularly impressed, being taken with her song choice, however Cee Lo did comment that she seemed to struggle to hit some of the more difficult notes at points.

Cole Vosbury decided to perform a stripped back, acoustic version of 'To Be With You' by Mr. Big next, earning possibly the best reviews of the night from the judges table. Blake sai that he sang the "daylights" out of the song and was left gleaming by the end of the performance. Adam praised his musical virtuosity and he, like the rest of the judges, commented on how he made the song his own by turning it into an acoustic number.

Up next was Tessanne Chin, who began the night as one of the frontrunners for the competition, and after her rendition of 'If I Were Your Woman' by Gladys Knight, she still looks stuck out in front. Adam commented on how this performance had "solidified" her as a major contender on the show, and after showing apprehension before her performance, Christina reassured Tessanne that this was her kind of song, pleading for more of the same in future weeks.

Ray Bourdeaux took everyone by surprise last night with his version of 'You Are The Best Thing' by Ray LaMontagne. Blake mentioned how he has rattled everyones cage and made them sit up and pay attention to him, whilst Christina admitted that, prior to tonight, she "didn't know" who Ray was, but now she is more than aware of his presence in the competition.

James Wolpert kept up the high standards with her version of the much-covered Harry Nilsson song 'Without You.' Although Christina commented on his pitch, she did go on to describe him as a "clean" singer and commended his overall performance. Adam was entirely complementary in his criticism, insisting that he had made the song his own.

Our penultimate performer, Kat Robichaud, sand 'We Belong' by Pat Benatar and put as much effort into her on-stage theatrics as she did her singing. Adam told her that this weeks performance was the one we've all been waiting for and the ever theatrical CeeLo was also taken by the performance. Calling it "exhilitarting," CeeLo was blown away by the performance, and he wasn't alone.

The final performer of the night was Matthew Schuler, how took on 'Beneath Your Beautiful' by Labyrinth and Emeli Sandé. Christina went o to explain how the room feels after one of his performances and conceded that the audience doesn't care what she has to say after he has been on stage, because he's already made their mind up. Adam meanwhile called the final performance "no less than amazing, which he always is."
