Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have announced the birth of their first child, a daughter named Luna Simone Stephens. The couple announced the happy news in separate social media posts on Sunday (April 17th), with the model saying she was ‘so in love’ with her new daughter.

"She's here! Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you! And sleepy. Very sleepy,” Chrissy wrote on Instagram, accompanied by a picture of a screen which showed Luna weighed 6lbs 11oz. John later added on twitter: "Our new love is here! Luna Simone Stephens, born on Thursday, the 14th. We couldn't be happier!”

Chrissy had previously been open about the couple's struggles to conceive and revealed last year they had undergone IVF treatment and chosen the sex of their baby. Speaking to People in February, the model said: “I’ve made this decision.”

“Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, ‘Let’s put in the girl.’ I think I was most excited and allured by the fact that John would be the best father to a little girl. That excited me.”
