Burberry's creative director Christopher Bailey has hailed James Corden the new fashion ''icon''.

The 43-year-old designer has revealed he has high hopes for the former 'Gavin & Stacey' star - who recently moved to the US to front 'The Late Late Show' - after he made his runway debut alongside Naomi Campbell during Burberry's London in Los Angeles-themed show last week.

He told Harper's Bazaar magazine: ''We always knew closing our show in LA would demand something special so we were thrilled when James accepted our invitation to join Naomi for the runway finale which he did with characteristic style and grace.

''Fashion has a new icon and his name is Corden.''

For the finale, the 36-year-old presenter and the 44-year-old supermodel were joined by Brit model Jourdan Dunn as the trio welcomed guests, including Elton John, the Beckham family, Cara Delevingne and Suki Waterhouse, back to an after party.

Raven-haired beauty Naomi shared a photo of the group on her Instagram account beckoning the audience to join in the fun.

She captioned the image: ''#come with us @Burberry #LondoninLA #notoveryet @officialjdunn @jkcorden#christopherbailey #followus #horseferryhouse. (sic)''
