From this week, music lovers can get free exclusive downloads from the officail Bacardi website as part of the new Bacardi Online Music Initiative (OMI). Working with Bacardi B-Live, the Bacardi OMI is a bespoke network of global music blogs and websites, distributing free shareable music content through the blogosphere.
The initiative has offered exclusive downloads and videos from over 20 artists over the past two and a half years, including Chromeo, Van She and Drop The Lime. New material is added regularly, with exclusives from Thunderheist and La Roux coming soon.
Music and parties have been part of Bacardi rum's heritage for over 100 years. Through its extensive involvement within international festivals and B-Live, Bacardi is associated with a wide range of new and established music acts. Now the OMI is making exclusive music from big name artists available for free.
To bring to life its pioneering music heritage, this summer Bacardi is commissioning three 'breakthrough' acts - emerging and pioneering music talent - to create unique pieces of music through the Bacardi Pioneers campaign. Inspired by the Bacardi rum brand, each piece of music will be rooted in Latin music and spirit, with a contemporary reworking of the rumba, and will be available for download on the Bacardi OMI in August.
