The television ace Henry Bromell sadly passed away on Monday (March 18) from a heart attack. Bromell was involved in many great TV series, but his work on Showtime’s critically acclaimed drama Homeland stands out as his finest work.

“We are deeply saddened by our dear friend Henry Bromell, who has been part of the Showtime family for over a decade,” Showtime executives said in a statement. “Henry was an immensely talented and prolific writer, director and showrunner, and his work on Brotherhood and Homeland was nothing short of brilliant. His passion, warmth, humor and generosity will be greatly missed,” the statement continued. “Our hearts and thoughts go out to his wife and family.” Veteran writer and producer John Falsey described him as a “wunderkid” to the L.A Times. “His humor was never broad, always moving. He had a natural ear for dialogue,” he added. Homeland, starring Claire Danes and Damian Lewis, was an instant hit in both America and The U.K, winning many awards for its depiction of a CIA agent embroiled in a terrorist drama.
