Clémence Poésy is a fan of ''crazy'' New York style.

The 'Harry Potter' actress prefers the way women dress in the Big Apple to her native Paris because she feels there is more freedom to express yourself and experiment with clothes.

Speaking in a video for Mytheresa.com, she said: ''I think in Paris I dare a bit less. What I love about New York is that no one cares... you can wear whatever you want. You can be as crazy as you want. So I feel freer there. I tend to wear lots of hats in NY. And I just love people-watching in London. The Brits have a really amazing sense of style.''

Clémence shows off her effortlessly chic look in a photoshoot for the online shopping retailer as well as spilling her style secrets in an exclusive video.

The French beauty has a long list of unconventional fashion heroes including photographer Lee Miller and singer Patti Smith, and takes inspiration from their retro style.

She added: ''I've always been fascinated by Lee Miller. She is one of my heroes, and I love Francesca Woodman. Sometimes, I can just stare at the pattern in her pictures all day or the shape of one of her shirts. She created the most amazing atmospheres.

''I also adore Niki de Saint Phalle. I think that she is a very elegant woman and I think I would lie if I didn't say Patti Smith and Jane Birkin were also sources of inspiration for me.''
