Police in the U.K. have received more calls from potential witnesses over a sex abuse claim against Sir Cliff Richard.

The Living Doll singer hit headlines on Thursday (14Aug14) when his home in Berkshire, England was raided by cops probing an allegation of sexual abuse on a boy aged under 16 dating back to the 1980s.

Since the news broke, more people have contacted police to give information.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police says, "Since the search took place, a number of people have contacted the police to provide information and we must acknowledge that the media played a part in that, for which we are grateful."

According to Britain's Daily Mail, Richard will reportedly fly back to the U.K. from his home in Portugal to be interviewed under caution by police. He denies any wrongdoing.
