Post-punk/ indie band Clinic (not to be confused with Belgian industrial outfit Klinik) are set to release their latest single 'Miss You' on November 12th 2012 through Domino records. The track is taken from their exceptionally innovative seventh studio album 'Free Reign' which is due out on the same day.
Accompanying the relatively slow-paced electronic track is a video directed by The 3 Sisters (Andy Knowles, Josh McCartney and James Hicks) featuring a montage of different images spinning in a series of mind bending kaleidoscopic tunnels enough to send anyone into a stupor. Clinic are well known for their indescribable, genre defying sound (as well as their tradition of wearing surgical masks and often scrubs during their live shows) and there's no doubt that 'Miss You' is a perfect example; lost somewhere between dream pop and psychedelia, the catchy tune, varying synth sounds and alternating drum beats give the band an edge like no other.
The Liverpool four piece (vocalist/ keyboardist Ade Blackburn, bassist Brian Campbell, guitarist/ keyboardist Jonathan Hartley and drummer Carl Turney) who got together in 1997 have self-produced the album with experimental artist Daniel Lopatin also known as Oneohtrix Point Never being roped in to help on the mixing.
