The 47th Annual County Music Awards were held last night (Wednesday 6th November) in Nashville, Tennessee and attracted a host of country music stars and celebrities. The awards, held at Bridgestone Arena, were broadcast live by ABC.

Those who fared well at the awards ceremony included Blake Shelton and his wife Miranda Lambert, whilst Tim McGraw's collaboration with Taylor Swift and Keith Urban, 'Highway Don't Care' received two awards.

Shelton and Lambert thanked each other in their acceptance speeches. Lambert received the award for Female Vocalist of the Year, whilst her husband took home Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year.

Lambert appeared surprised to have gained the award and said in her acceptance speech, as Us Weekly reported, "I really didn't think this was going to happen this year." The 29 year old added, addressing Shelton, "to my husband, I love you. Thank you for putting up with my cr*p!" Shelton reciprocated her sentiments in his own acceptance speech saying "Not to just echo Miranda, but I really swear I didn't think this was going to happen this year. But it did!"

Swift and Kacey Musgraves were both up for a number of awards. Swift was nominated for three awards and won two for 'Highway Don't Care', her collaborative effort with McGraw and Urban. Musgraves was awarded with New Artist of the Year, losing out on awards for Single, Album, Song and Female Vocalist of the Year.

Those attending, not belonging to the country and music scene, included Kimberley Williams-Paisley, who attended the event to support her husband Brad Paisley; Duck Dynasty family members John and Willie; actress Judith Hoag; and television personality Rachel Smith. Connie Britton, the star of Nashville, also attended the event. Britton was joined by her fellow Nashville actress Chaley Rose.
