Coldplay have started the New Year on top of the pop charts in their native Britain.
The group's Paradise has crawled to the top of the first countdown of 2012 after making its debut at 14 in November (11).
The track is only Coldplay's second U.K. number one single - Viva La Vida was the group's first chart-topper in 2008.
Olly Murs' Dance With Me Tonight has climbed back up the chart to two while Flo Rida's Good Feeling is up four to three.
Ed Sheeran's + has landed at number one on the album chart and Bruno Mars' Doo-Wops & Hooligans enjoyed a post-Christmas (11) surge to claim the new number two spot almost a year after debuting in the chart.
