British band Coldplay have been named the country's highest-selling rock act of the last 12 months.
The band's chart-topping track Paradise was the U.K.'s most popular guitar anthem of 2011 and their album, Mylo Xyloto, sold more copies than any other rock act, according to statistics released by The Official Charts Company.
Former Oasis star Noel Gallagher claimed second place in the album rundown with his debut solo offering Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, ahead of Florence & The MAChine's Ceremonials and Foo Fighters' Wasting Light at three and four respectively.
The top five is rounded out by Mumford & Sons' hit album Sigh No More.
Coldplay boast two songs in the top five rock singles of 2011 - Paradise at number one and Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall at four.
Other artists to feature include the Goo Goo Dolls, Birdy and Noah & The Whale.
