The band agreed to shoot a promo for their 2008 single Lovers In Japan in a London mansion, but they were baffled by the mess when they arrived.

Frontman Chris Martin reveals they found dirty mattresses lying around and a strange smell in their dressing room.

"We did a video in this old mansion. We got there and - this is really gross - our dressing room smelt really strange," Chris tells U.K. talk show host Jonathan Ross.

"Will (Champion), our drummer, said to the person showing us around: 'What’s with the mattresses?' And he said, 'Oh, we had an orgy here last night'. He actually said: 'Don't go in the Jacuzzi.' It was disgusting."

On Thursday (03Dec15), it was revealed the group will be performing in the half-time show at the 2016 Super Bowl event, the climax of America's National Football League (NFL) season.

"We are so excited and honoured and thrilled to be playing the half-time show," frontman Chris Martin declared in a video released by the NFL.
