British actor Colin Firth is in talks to help bring comic book series The Secret Service to life on the big screen.

Director Matthew Vaughn helped to create the graphic novels, about a scoundrel from a rough area of London who is recruited by his uncle to enrol in a top spy school, and The King's Speech star is tipped to take on the part of the relative.

The lead role has yet to be cast; Savages actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson was previously linked to the main part, but was unavailable for the shoot.
