Angels Sing - Trailer

Christmas is a time for family, although there are those who would argue it is an over-commercialised capitalist holiday. One of these people is Michael Walker (Harry Connick, Jr.) who cannot stand Christmas. When their rent runs out, they are forced to find a new house. Michael stumbles across the perfect family home, with the owner intent on selling the house to a family - as long as they uphold the long-running neighbourhood tradition of putting on a tremendous and bombastic Christmas light display. Connie Britton would like to return to American Horror Story. The actress is currently starring in Nashville as Rayna James but, back in 2011, she was playing Vivien Harmon on American Horror Story: Murder House. The 46-year-old actress played opposite numerous stars of the current series including Jessica Lange, Taissa Farmiga, Jamie Brewer and Evan Peters.

She appears to miss being around her former co-stars and the show saying "I've actually have been talking to them [the show's producers] this season, because they're down in New Orleans and I'm in Nashville. I'm said, "Okay, let's see if we can try to figure this out."

The To Do List Review

Very Good

Even as this comedy strains to be goofy and transgressive, it catches us by surprise simply because it dares to explore first-time sexual experiences through female eyes. And Aubrey Plaza (Safety Not Guaranteed) brings her usual sardonic wit to the lead role, merrily offending the more timid moviegoers while making more adventurous fans wish the film went even further.

Plaza plays Brandy, who graduated at the top of her Boise high school class. But with that goal achieved, she wonders if she neglected to prepare properly for university social life, so she makes a summer to-do list of sex-related tasks leading, hopefully, to losing her virginity to the hunky guitar-strumming lifeguard Rusty (Porter). She works with him at the local swimming pool along with her nice-guy best pal Cameron (Simmons), who's of course secretly in love with her. But as Brandy works through the list with the help of her friends (Shawkat and Steele) and her experienced big sister (Bilson), she starts to worry that her emotions are getting in the way.

Thankfully, writer-director Carey refuses to let this turn into a romantic slush-fest, keeping the encounters jagged and often very funny. The script is packed with hilariously squirm-inducing conversations about sex, many involving Brandy's far too helpful mother (Britton). Although her dad (Gregg) and her loser boss (Hader) understandably don't want to know. Meanwhile, when the local guys (Glover and Mintz-Plasse) find out about Brandy's list, they are sure to tick off a few items themselves, as does a visiting rock star (Samberg).

Connie Britton Gives Thumbs Up To Peter Berg's 'Friday Night Lights' Movie

Connie Britton Kyle Chandler NBC

Connie Britton says she is a big supporter of a possible Friday Night Lights movie and would "love" to see if happen. Appearing at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, Britton said that although she's currently starring in the ABC drama 'Nashville,' she'd be happy to appear in a movie adaptation of the NBC television series.

"I would love it to happen. I'm a big supporter of it happening. I don't know if we will see it or not," she told E! online when asked about a movie. Friday Night Lights was actually a 2004 movie before the TV series, though the refashioning on the small screen created a legion of diehard fans. It focused on the relationship between Coach Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler) and his wife Tami (Connie Britton). The show went off the air in 2011, though a devoted fan base had allowed it to live on for three more seasons on DirecTV when it was in danger of cancellation by NBC. "I know it was being written and Peter Berg is really serious about it, so I think if everybody got on board, I don't see why we couldn't have a movie," added Britton.

Back in March, the actress told the Hollywood Reporter, "We keep talking about how we have to wait a certain amount of years and then we can go back to working together again." It's unlikely to make it the big screen anytime soon, with Chandler working on Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street and Showtime pilot 'The Vatican'. Britton is busy with Nashville.

Globes Globes Best Dressed 2013: Who Got It Right? (Pictures)

Miranda Kerr Connie Britton Lena Dunham Salma Hayek Stacy Keibler Ben Affleck Jennifer Lawrence Orlando Bloom Jonah Hill Paul Rudd Megan Fox Brian Austin Green

Ok, so we know you fickle bunch want to know who the Golden Globes' best dressed stars were for 2013. You don't give a damn about Argo winning Best Picture, or Ben Affleck winning Best Director right? You want to know who got it right on the red carpet, and we don't blame you.

One thing particularly apparent at the Golden Globes 2013 was that actresses were prepared to take style chances. Not every outfit worked out, but it was worth the risk for many of Hollywood's biggest names. Cherry red was a favored color, while cut-out dresses, black gowns and intricate detailing were in abundance.

The To Do List Trailer

Brandy Clark is an ordinary high school senior who finds herself suffocated under the pressures of pre-college life. As a sexually curious virgin, she is determined to explore the world of bedroom pleasures before starting her first year at college. From the most bizarre to the most unpleasant and unimaginable, she is resolute that she will experience every sexual adventure she's ever heard of and makes a long, colorful list of everything she hopes to err. 'achieve' in the short time she has left as a senior. Locating willing participants doesn't prove too difficult with many members of the opposite sex on a similar quest to her, and her new found promiscuity proves a lot for her anxious parents to handle.

This hilarious new romantic comedy is not like regular Valentine's Day flicks; it's frank and explicit with no room for censorship, just like a normal pre-college teenager. 'The To Do List' has been written and directed by Maggie Carey in her first feature length movie and its set to be released bang on time on February 14th 2013. Prepare to cover your ears and eyes as you venture into that world you thought (and hoped) you'd long forgotten.

Starring: Connie Britton, Aubrey Plaza, Rachel Bilson, Andy Samberg, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Alia Shawkat, Clark Gregg, Johnny Simmons, Bill Hader, Scott Porter, Nolan Gould, Donald Glover, Adam Pally, Sarah Steele & Lauren Lapkus.

Nashville Premiere Proves A Smash For Hayden Panettiere

Hayden Panettiere Connie Britton

ABC’s new TV drama Nashville can firmly set its sights on many seasons to come, as the premiere went down well with audiences and critics alike, reports CBS news.

Not to be confused with Glee, Smash, or any other musically-attuned show on TV today, Nashville’s music is part of the show, but doesn’t define the show. Don’t get us wrong, the tunes are an integral part of the series, but that’s simply because of their close connection to the show’s namesake town. Conflict: the crux of any good drama on television is ample in Nashville. Connie Britton stars as Rayna James, a country music veteran whose career is more ‘greatest hits’ than ‘debut smash.’ Her record label wants her to combine tours with Juliette Barnes (played by Hayden Panettiere) a much younger pop-country rival whose fledging career is on the up. The well-written pilot shifts through the gears of characters, who are all at different points in their careers, and on the social/political ladder, much like HBO’s The Wire did within the crime genre. With a witty script, confident acting and a bold, genuine plot, Nashville looks like a TV favourite waiting to happen.

Episode 1 aired last night, October 10, 2012 and if you missed it, you’ve got plenty of time to catch up, because the next episode won’t hit TV screens until October 17, 2012, with episode 3 on the 24th. Get involved!

Is Nashville Really The Best Written Show On Television?

Hayden Panettiere Connie Britton

Nashville makes its long awaited debut on ABC tonight (October 10, 2012), which follows the declining career of country star Rayna James (Connie Britton) who becomes threatened by the young starlet Juliette Barnes, played by Hayden Panettiere.

The show's production has certainly been in good hands, with The War Room's R.J Cutler, Thelma & Louise's Callie Khouri and E.R's Dee Johnson overseeing things. Critics privy to the show's first episode have been bowled over by the dramatic inside look at country music with Linda Stasi of the New York Post calling it the best written show currently on television. Verne Gay of Newsday said "The hype is justified. Nashville's terrific," while Ken Tucker of Entertainment Weekly offered, "Rarely does a pilot present a world as completely as Nashville does in its first hour." It was the Los Angeles who was perhaps the most effusive in their praise of the show, with television critic Mary McNamara writing, "Nashville is big, bold, wildly ambitious and great fun, with top notes of Robert Altman's "Nashville," "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and "All About Eve."

Nashville essentially taps into the triumphs and struggles of the hugely lucrative country music scene in the United States. The series also stars Powers Boothe, Charles Esten, Clare Bowen and Robert Wisdom.

Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World Review

Excellent
There's a whiff of wilful quirkiness about this apocalyptic comedy-drama, but as the brittle humour quietly transforms into something remarkably emotional, the film gets under our skin in ways we never expect.

With an apocalyptic asteroid strike due in three weeks, Dodge (Carell) wonders why he's still going to work at his dull insurance firm. Then he runs into Penny (Knightley), distraught because she's broken up with her boyfriend (Brody). Dodge wants to revisit his childhood sweetheart, while Penny wants to see her parents in Britain. And Dodge knows someone with a plane, so they team up. Along the road, they get help from a trucker (Peterson) and Penny's survivalist ex (Luke). But with the world ending, their priorities begin to shift.

One Eyed King Review

Bad
Making your first feature film ain't easy. Assemble a decent, if not strong, cast, as writer/director Robert Moresco has done with One Eyed King, and you're already ahead of the game. But rehash old plot lines, tired dialogue, and standard clichés, and a well-intentioned effort such as this one could jeopardize your chance at a second feature film.

How many more movies do we need about a rough neighborhood full of lifelong friends hopelessly turned to crime or worse? The enormous catalog of such movies might dissuade a filmmaker from making yet another, but here we have it. Again. Five Irish kids in NYC's Hell's Kitchen make an overemotional pact over some stolen rings on an anonymous rooftop. With teary music. And slow motion. In the film's first scene.
