Liam Gallagher (DOB 21st September 1972) is the famous front man for the Manchester band Oasis. With his unforgettable stage presence and self assured attitude, he is one of the countries most recognisable front men of our generation.

Favourites of the tabloids and paparazzi in the 90's, Liam's swagger and laddish behaviour earned him a justifiable bad boy image, with equal coverage for his music and personal life. His often documented rocky relationship with his brother and band mate Noel Gallagher, has often defined the band and their tempestuous harmony.

Music Career: Away from the tabloid newspapers and with his band Oasis they quickly became stalwarts of the 1990's Britpop movement. Arguably winning the ongoing chart battles with Blur, Oasis' 1994 album 'Definitely Maybe' is one of the defining albums of the decade and some say our generation.

In a 2008 poll by Q and HMV, 'Definitely Maybe' was ranked first on a list of the greatest British albums of all time.

Other accolades include a recent poll, run by music magazine NME and the book of British Hit Singles and Albums, that voted 'Definitely Maybe' the best album of all time with The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - finishing second and Revolver third.

Liam Gallagher and Oasis followed up 'Definitely Maybe' with the 1995 release '(What's the Story) Morning Glory'. Carrying on from the success of their debut album 347,000 copies were sold in the first week of release and more than 18 million copies have been sold worldwide up until 2007.

With brilliant sales and all four singles from the album reaching either number 1 or 2 in the UK single charts, the daunting prospect of following on from 'Definitely Maybe' was seemingly achieved with ease.

In contrast, album wise 'Be Here Now' (1997), 'Standing on the Shoulder of Giants' (2000) and 'Heathen Chemistry (2002) all came and went without the impact of their early releases. Critics sat on both sides of the fence and although all three albums provided us with some classic Oasis and Liam Gallagher vocals, they didn't evoke the frenzy they had become accustomed to during the Brit Pop years.

Regardless of such media indifference, Liam and the band bounced back with 'Don't Believe the Truth' (2005), which saw Liam take on more of a writing role and Oasis attain resurgence in form.

With singles 'Lyla' and 'The Importance of Being idle' reaching number 1, and 'Let there be love' reaching number 2 in the UK Single charts - Oasis were back and experiencing similar press exposure and fan admiration as they did in the 90's.

With a seventh studio album slated for release later in 2008, Liam Gallagher and Oasis are surely hoping to build on 'Don't Believe the Truth', although if they don't they'll still go down as one of our generations greatest bands and Liam will be up there for greatest front man.

Personal Life: Liam is an avid support of Manchester City Football club.

He was married to actress Patsy Kensit, who he has a child with and is now married to former All Saint's singer, Nicole Appleton, who he also has a child with.

His shoe size is 8.

Noel Gallagher Now Refusing Oasis Reunion In Any Circumstances After Liam Footage

Footage emerged earlier this month of Liam Gallagher apparently getting physically aggressive with girlfriend Debbie Gwyther.

The recent footage of Liam Gallagher grabbing his girlfriend by the neck appears to have had more damage than that which is immediately obvious, with his brother Noel deciding to rule out, for good, any possible Oasis reunion after seeing it.

Noel, the older of the two warring siblings, is said to be “disgusted” with his younger brother after footage emerged last week that seemed to show Liam arguing with his partner, Debbie Gwyther, and showing him apparently grabbing her throat.

A source told The Sun on Thursday (August 30th): “Noel has now said there’s no chance of a reunion happening now. He doesn’t want to take to the stage with Liam after what he’s done.”

He's been accused of violent behaviour towards his girlfriend at a restaurant.

Liam Gallagher has found himself facing controversy of a type more serious than we've gotten used to from him recently. He's been accused of assaulting his girlfriend by a doorman at a London restaurant, though as of now he's denied all allegations put forward.

A 29-year-old bouncer named Max Ksiazek claims he was forced to confront the former Oasis frontman after witnessing him grabbing girlfriend Debbie Gwyther by the throat outside the exclusive hotel and restaurant, Chiltern Firehouse. According to him, they then had a conversation about the altercation.

What The Fish?! Liam Gallagher's Fury Over Smelly Stage Stunt

The singer was not impressed with what landed on stage at Benicassim.

Apparently there's something else we can add on to the list of stuff Liam Gallagher isn't fond of along with most contemporary musicians, his brother and Manchester United; fish. At least, not when it finds itself on stage while he's performing...

Image caption Liam Gallagher performs at Latitude

The former Oasis frontman lost it during his performance at Benicassim on Sunday (July 22nd 2018) when he noticed that somebody had thrown seafood on to the stage during his set. Clutching a pair of maracas, he was about to kick off a rendition of 'Cigarettes & Alcohol' when he stopped the show in disgust.

Somebody Threw An Actual Fish At Liam Gallagher During Gig

By Ed Biggs in Music / Festivals on 25 July 2018

Liam Gallagher

How annoyed does a punter need to be to throw an actual fish at the performer?

Dealing with hecklers is well within the purview of most performing artists, never mind the irascible Liam Gallagher, but even the former Oasis frontman was forced to interrupt his momentum when somebody threw an ACTUAL FISH at him during a festival show in Spain this week.

The 45 year old star was on stage at Barcelona’s Festival Internacional de Benicàssim at the weekend and about to launch into ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ when Gallagher stopped his band to confront the crowd, after spotting that somebody had hurled the aquatic creature, as reported by NME.

“Which dickhead threw the fish here then?” Gallagher asked indignantly. “F***ing stinky, smelly fish, man. Now listen man, it really ain’t that f***ing bad, man. Don’t be throwing fish on stage, mate. I’ve seen a lot worse than this sh**. Alright?”
