To coincide with the release of her first mixtape PinkPantheress has dropped visualisers for five more tracks lifted from it including this one, 'Nineteen'. Only last week Bath born singer-songwriter PinkPantheress released her latest single 'I Must Apologise'. She has now followed that up by uploading videos for the remaining tracks from 'to hell with it'; 'Last valentines', 'All my friends know', 'Reason', 'Notice I cried' and 'Nineteen'.
Pinkpantheress' new ten track collection follows the release of her viral TikTok song 'Break It Off' back in June. She quickly followed up her debut release with the subsequent singles, 'Pain', 'Passion' and more recently, in early October - 'I must apologise'. Her most successful single release to date has been 'Just For Me' which peaked at number 27 in the UK charts in July this year. 'Just For Me' has also been sampled by Drill artist Central Cee.
Talking about her new release in a recent interview with The Guardian PinkPantheress said - "At the end of the day, I am still at uni and I enjoy my life outside of doing interviews. I am just an internet kid at the end of the day – always have been and always will be." So far she's managed to avoid the trappings of imminent star status and stay level headed. "Everything’s on your phone – it almost feels like a virtual game. I can turn my phone off and then I’m just me a year ago again, in uni doing uni stuff. It doesn’t feel too crazy. It feels good knowing people are listening, but I can turn it off really easily" she says.
With influences and references as diverse as K-Pop, Punk-Pop and Emo, PinkPantheress has not restricted or pigeon-holed her sound. She has drawn on a broad spectrum of musical styles to deliver her first collection of songs. PinkPantheress says that even though she has used some iconic D&B samples that - "I can’t call myself a junglist or a D’n’B head, because I really don’t think my music does anything but scratch the surface of those genres."
'to hell with it' is released on October 15th via Parlophone Records.
