Rockers Counting Crows have scrapped the remainder of their New Zealand tour dates due to illness.

The band was scheduled to play a show at the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington on Saturday night (23Mar13), but the gig was scrapped and rescheduled for Sunday (24Mar13) after an unidentified band member fell ill. However, the group cancelled the concert altogether hours before showtime.

Another gig at Auckland's Civic Theatre on Monday (25Mar13) was also axed.

A post from Live Nation on Facebook.com reads, "Due to illness, Counting Crows have been forced to cancel their New Zealand tour dates... Counting Crows and Live Nation sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and advise all ticket holders to seek a refund at the point of purchase."

The Mr. Jones hitmakers are slated to start their Australia dates in Brisbane on Wednesday (27Mar13).
