The widow of Kurt Cobain lost millions by settling several lawsuits over the years.
At one time Courtney Love, the widow to Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, was most likely sitting on one of rock music biggest fortunes, but she recently confessed to spending a massive chuck of it which was mainly due to settling numerous lawsuits over the years.
Love admits to spending "about $27 million" of Nirvana's fortune
Astonishingly, since inheriting the 90’s band’s fortune when Cobain killed himself in April 1994, the queen of grunge has managed to lose “about $27 million,” but Love doesn’t seem to be fazed by this too much.

"I know that's a lifetime of money to most people, but I'm a big girl, it's rock 'n roll, it's Nirvana money, I had to let it go. I make enough to live on, I'm financially solvent, I focus on what I make now,” she told the UK’s Sunday Times.
And one of the only reasons Love even knows approximately how much money she burned through is because of class A drugs. "I had to run very fast to look after my money and I felt cocaine helped me do that. So I started taking cocaine and that turned into nine months of crack,” she said.
The former lead singer of the alternative rock band Hole also took this opportunity to squash rumours that claim her and Cobain’s only daughter, Frances Bean, now 21, has any control of the Nirvana estate.

"There's this myth out there—put out by Frances' lawyers—that Frances runs the catalogue, which is absolute nonsense," Love said about her estranged child. "When she's 40, she becomes a member of the board and she has a vote, but not now."
Nirvana were one of the most successful rock band's of the the 90's
During the candid interview, the 50 year-old singer also recalled an intriguing story about Prince Charles' younger brother Prince Andrew, who apparently showed up at her house in Los Angeles looking for a party.
“He rang the bell, but my antipodean nanny wouldn't get up because she's anti-monarchy, so I had to go down in my slippers and bathrobe," she said of her royal encounter. "I had all these Jubilee mugs with pictures of the Queen on, so I made him a really good pot of tea and I hand him a mug with his mum on it, and he saw the joke. He asked, 'What do you do all day?' which I thought was just nerdy. I said, 'What do you do all day, Prince?'"
