The former Moonlighting star is hoping to wow theatre audiences with her singing voice and she accepts tearful renditions of certain standards will not go down well.

She tells WENN, "My job as a performer singing live is to not cry! With a live audience, you don't want them thinking, 'That's Cybil Shepherd crying!' You want them thinking about how am I feeling; what is this song bringing up for me?

"I really have to concentrate on that because there are some songs I sing where I just bawl! The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face; that's one that really gets to me."
