Soul star D'angelo has scrapped a series of U.S. shows following a "medical emergency".
The Brown Sugar singer has been hospitalised, but details about what ails the star have not been released.
A statement from promoters at Live Nation suggests the concerts have been cancelled due to an "unfortunate circumstance", while D'Angelo's agent has reportedly told venue bosses at the House of Blues in Chicago, where he was set to play on Wednesday (07Aug13), that the singer's illness is "serious", but he "should be Ok".
Concerts in New York and Maryland were scrapped last week (begs29Jul13).
It is not known if D'Angelo's appearance at the Outside Lands festival in San Francisco, California on Friday (09Aug13) will go ahead as scheduled, but his final summer shows either side of that date, in Chicago and San Diego, have been cancelled.
