The summer is nearly over, but we have a new Daft Punk/Pharrell Williams collaboration to warm us over the long, cold winter. The concept of the song, as well as the accompanying video, is perfectly appropriate for the occasion – Lose Yoursel to Dance is mostly an ode to the physical and mental benefits of, well, dancing.

Sounds like another instant Number 1.

“I know you don't get a chance to take a break this often/ I know your life is speeding and it isn't stopping,” Pharell chimes in with the song’s limited, but pointed lyrics. It’s like he’s seeing straight into all of our overworked, beat-deprived souls!

Check out the video for Lose Yourself to Dance - simple and to the point.

In all seriousness, the simple beat and even simpler lyrics make for a thoroughly groovy song, in the best way possible, and the video released by the band this week, matches the track perfectly. The video features the robots themselves, longtime collaborator Nile Rogers and, of course, Pharrell apparently having a grand old time performing for a very enthusiastic crowd. Oh, and they’re wearing shiny silver jackets. That’s it, really. The song and video don’t need much else though. As usual with Daft Punk, simplicity is the key to a catchy and dance-worthy anthem that will most likely be stuck in everyone’s head for the next few months.

Mr Williams' vocals sound almost inseparable from the robots' music at this point.
