A teaser trailer for the highly anticipated sequel Fifty Shades Darker has arrived a day ahead of the full trailer, with its star Jamie Dornan at front and center.

The 19-second clip, released one day before the full trailer comes out on Tuesday (September 13th), shows Dornan’s Christian Grey whispering to Anastasia Steele (played by Dakota Johnson), asking her is she’s “intrigued”.

Fifty Shades Darker is scheduled for theatrical release on February 10th, 2017 – coinciding with the Valentine’s Day market, just like its predecessor.

Bella Heathcote has been cast as Christina Grey’s former lover Leila Williams in upcoming sequel, Fifty Shades Darker. The 28-year-old Australian actress can currently be seen opposite Lily James in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and got her start working on popular soap ‘Neighbours’.

Kim Basinger is in talks to star in the upcoming second movie in the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, ahead of production starting in the spring.

According to an exclusive in Variety, the 62 year old actress is set to join Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan in Fifty Shades Darker, starring as Christian Grey’s ex-lover and former business partner Elena Lincoln.

Basinger’s rumoured character, who is several years older than the successful businessman Grey, was hinted at in the first movie, setting the stage for a dramatic reveal in the forthcoming film.

A new promo shot has been released for the upcoming romantic drama Fifty Shades of Grey showing actor Jamie Dornan portraying the movie's male lead, Christian Grey. Jamie Dornan was announced as the replacement for the departed Charlie Hunnam to star in the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey movie adaptation weeks ago, earning him one of Hollywood's most attention-grabbing starring roles to appear on the upcoming film radar. Speaking as the cover star for Entertainment Weekly, Dornan addressed the pressures of his upcoming role, as well as the route he took to get to where he is and how he is preparing himself for the role.

This is by far the most high-profile role the Northern Irish actor has been given in his time as an actor, yet this is a project that Dornan says he is looking forward to, rather than one whose gradual approach he is dreading. The role has had to be recast after former Grey, Charlie Hunnam, walked out over purported scheduling difficulties.

At this point in time, been described as the 50 Shades frontrunner pretty much means that you're the only male actor left in Hollywood who hasn't already been associated with the role. Charlie Hunnam has revealed his "relief" at no longer being involved in the 50 Shades of Grey movie adaptation. Universal Pictures confirmed on Saturday, 12 October, that the actor had walked from the project, confirming his exit a month before filming was due to begin on the project. Apparently though, Charlie hasn't been fazed by his exit at all, and if anything he is happy his involvement with it is over.

A source close to the Sons of Anarchy star has spoken with Fox News about the exit and revealed that it is a "big relief" for Charlie to finally be disassociated with the project. When his exit was initially reported, Hunnam's excuse was that he had too busy a schedule to commit to the film, however reports soon emerged saying the actor had gotten cold feet over the role and had become overwhelmed by his sudden thrust into the limelight.

The revelation from the Fox insider confirms that the actor was reluctant to commit to the role in the first place and now that his part in the film has been officially discontinued, he apparently couldn't be more relieved.

UPDATE: British pop star Rita Ora has been cast as the adopted sister of Christian Grey, who will now be played by Irish actor Jamie Dornan. 

The 50 Shades of Grey movie appears to be in turmoil with just over two weeks before a huge crew descends on Vancouver for the first official day of shooting, with Universal and Focus Feature expecting to release the movie - based on E.L. James' erotic novel - in August, 2014.

Dakota Johnson is feeling apprehensive about her part on the upcoming movie adaptation of EL James' 50 Shades of Grey. Like her former co-star Charlie Hunnam, the immense pressure that comes with the coveted role is proving to be a heavy weight to bear, one that she is finding increasingly difficult to keep balance with.

Last week, the 50 Shades of Grey movie was delivered a major blow when lead actor Hunnam dropped out of the project. His reasons for leaving were initially said to be because of his overwhelming work load, however ater reports stated that his exit was more to do with the sheer pressure that came with the job and the limelight that seemed to follow him everywhere since his part in the project was confirmed. Now reports are suggesting that Johnson too could be on the way out.

"Dakota is having a very hard time dealing with all the press," a source close to the actress told E! News. "When she first got the role, it was way too much for her."

The Fifty Shades of Grey cast list keeps on growing, and the latest actor to be assigned a role in the anticipated adaptation of the erotic novel is Jennifer Ehle. The actress will appear as Anastasia Steele's mother, a passing role in the novels but one that is expected to become much more prominent in the film due to Elhe's appointment.

As confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, Ehle is the third name to be attached to the movie project, after Dakota Johnson was cast as Anastasia Steele and Charlie Hunnam was given the role of the BDSM-obsessed billionaire Christian Grey. Her appointment also adds further weight to the project, which had begun to look as though it was destined to fail before filming had even begun as producers at Universal and Focus Features struggled to find a cast and crew when the rights to the book were initially purchased.

Things are running much smoothly now, and with Sam Taylor-Wood signed on to direct and Kelly Marcel having reportedly finished the screenplay for the film, work on the project is due to begin before the end of 2013. The film is being produced by Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and the novel's author EL James.

The Fifty Shades of Grey auditions were shrouded in mystery - nobody really knew who auditioned, until now of course. With Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson now the proud owners of two of the biggest roles of 2014, the actors and actresses who failed to convince Universal that they were right for Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele are beginning to come out of the woodwork.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan.com at the Alice + Olivia presentation for the New York Fashion Week, Chloe Bridges - best known for her role in The Carrie Diaries - dished on her audition for the role of Anastasia, and it ain't pretty. 

"There were three pages of sides that I was going to audition with," she explained. "I read them and then was like, I really can't do this."

Some fans of Fifty Shades of Grey might disagree, but it does seem like Sons of Anarchy’s Charlie Hunnam is the perfect choice to play the racy role of Christian Grey – in that he’s willing to do it, at least.

The film’s director Sam Taylor-Johnson still hasn’t revealed how much of the sexual content of E. L. James’ novel will make it on screen, but it’s likely to be quite a lot, considering that sexual scenes make up most of the trilogy.

This might also be part of the reason why several actors and actresses turned down the lead roles before Hunnam and co-star Dakota Johnson agreed.
